ADULT CPR - AHA HEARTSAVER OR  ASHI COMMUNITY LEVEL

The CPR course is a course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child, and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults, and breathing difficulties in children. The program is divided into a choice of three different courses:

CPR for All Ages -- teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in adults, infants, and children.

CPR for Adults -- teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in adults.

CPR for Infants and Children -- teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in infants (birth to 1 year )

    and children (1 year to 8 years of age).

AED certification included in this class at your request. Hands-on training with realistic mannequins ensures a lively class. American Heart Association (AHA) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) certification card provided.

ADULT, CHILD, INFANT CPR - AHA HEALTHCARE PROVIDER OR ASHI PROFESSIONAL LEVEL

CPR, AED, Rescue Breathing, for adult, child, infant victims and choking  for the conscious or unconscious victim. AHA or ASHI certification card provided.

ACLS - AHA OR ASHI CURRICULUM - SEE SCHEDULE FOR DATES

To provide healthcare professionals with didactic and psychomotor skills training in the Identification of events that may lead to a cardiac arrest in a adult, care of an adult in cardiac arrest and care of the adult patient during the period immediately following a cardiac arrest. AHA or ASHI certification card provided.

FIRST AID TRAINING - AHA OR ASHI

Be prepared for anything.  This hands-on course covers prevention and treatment for burns, bleeding control, splinting, seizures, poisoning, shock, heat emergencies, eye and facial injuries, and infection control. 911 drills and emergency planning are included in this course. AHA or ASHI certification card provided.

BASIC WILDERNESS FIRST AID - ASHI

This is an intensive 8- to 10-hour course for those who are involved in wilderness recreation, participants learn how to handle any emergency when medical resources are not close-by. Topics such as water safety, environmental emergencies, snakebites, and more are covered. Advanced splinting and bandaging techniques are practiced. Full textbook and ASHI certification card provided.

ADVANCED WILDERNESS FIRST AID - ASHI

This is a 16- to 20-hour course for those who are involved in serious wilderness activities. This course is the choice of many wilderness trip leaders and guides.

CHILD INJURY PREVENTION & INFECTION CONTROL - ASHI

This course works with the child care center personnel to identify and eliminate potential hazards, reducing the need for first aid care. Safety strategies and emergency action plans are developed. ASHI certificate of completion is awarded.

INFECTION CONTROL ( BBP ) - ASHI

This course varies in time based on the needs of the workplace. Federal OSHA requires that BloodBorne pathogens training be provided annually to employees with potential occupational exposure.  Participants learn to protect themselves and others from exposure through proper workplace safety and techniques. Textbook and ASHI certification card provided.

OXYGEN ADMINISTRATION - ASHI

This course teaches the proper administration of oxygen during emergency situations. Emergency oxygen is now available without a prescription, and is a great tool in an emergency situation. In this course, the use of oxygen administration equipment is practiced, as well as the handling and maintenance of oxygen tanks. Textbook and ASHI certification card provided.

ASHI ESSENTIALS

This full-day course is the perfect solution to cover all of your training needs. Adult, CPR, AED, First Aid, BloodBorne Pathogens, and Oxygen Administration are covered. Child and infant CPR can be added at your request. Full textbook and certification card provided.

PET FIRST AID - ASHI Coming Soon

This course is ASPCA approved and teaches emergency care for cats and dogs, including treatment for sudden illness or injury. Canine CPR is practiced on a realistic mannequin named Casper. Textbook and certificate of completion provided.

FIRST RESPONDER - INITIAL OR REFRESHER

This course is one of a series of courses making up the National EMS education program for out-of hospital care. The First Responder is a designated level of emergency medical care provider. This course is designed to help the new First Responder gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to be a competent, productive, and valuable member of the emergency medical services team. The First Responder uses a limited amount of equipment to perform initial assessment and intervention and is trained to assist other EMS providers.

WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER - ASHI

This is a 60- to 80-hour course for wilderness professionals and others who want a higher level of training or require WFR certification.

BASIC - EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN - INITIAL OR REFRESHER

The EMT-Basic, represents the first component of the emergency medical technician system. An EMT-B is trained to care for patients at the scene of an accident and while transporting patients by ambulance to the hospital under medical direction. The EMT-B has the emergency skills to assess a patient’s condition and manage respiratory, trauma, cardiac emergencies. and emergency childbirth. Students learn how to use and maintain common emergency equipment, such as backboards, suction devices, splints, oxygen delivery systems, and stretchers. Graduates of approved EMT basic training programs who pass a written and practical examination administered by the NREMT earn the title “Registered EMT-Basic.”

WILDERNESS EMT UPGRADE - ASHI

This is a 40-hour course for those who are already certified as EMTs. The course builds on EMT training and adds wilderness concepts and skills with many role-playing scenarios.
